Getting to the Polls on Election Day

On Election Day, Nov. 6, the Center for Community Service will provide students with rides to the polls and will host a lunchtime barbecue to get students excited about voting.

Students who registered to vote using their University of Hartford address are eligible to vote in either Hartford or West Hartford, depending on their residence hall.

Registered voters who live in A-Complex and C-Complex will vote at King Philip Middle School in West Hartford. Registered voters living in all other residence halls will vote at Annie Fisher School in Hartford.

The Center for Community Service will be providing rides to those polling places from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 6. During those hours, students who are registered to vote in West Hartford (those living in A-Complex and C-Complex) should go to the Gengras Student Union patio to sign up for a ride. Students who are registered to vote in Hartford (those living in all other residence halls) should go to Konover to sign up for a ride.

You can only vote if you have registered. Students should bring their University of Hartford ID or Connecticut driver’s license with them to the polls.

The Center for Community Service, together with ARAMARK and the Campus Activities Team, also will host a lunchtime barbecue on Nov. 6, to get students in the Election Day spirit. The barbecue will take place on the GSU patio from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Stop by the BBQ for lunch and get a free Hawks Vote 2012 T-shirt!
