Women's Soccer to Play for America East Title

Come out and support the University of Hartford women's soccer team, as the Hawks host Stony Brook in the title game of the America East Championship!

The game will take place on Sunday, Nov. 4, at 3 p.m., at Al-Marzook Field (behind the Sports Center).

Admission is free for University of Hartford students with ID. Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for youth ages 14 and under. To purchase tickets, stop by the Athletics Box Office in the Reich Family Pavilion, call the box office at 860.768.HAWK (4295), or visit the Hartford Hawks website. You can also buy tickets at Al-Marzook Field just before the game.

The winner of Sunday's championship game will earn the America East's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

This will be the 10th time that the Hartford women's soccer team has played in the title game of the America East Championship. The Hawks are in search of their eighth America East Championship and their first since 2006.

Hartford locked up the #1 seed heading into the America East tournament. The Hawks received a bye in the first round and played their way past Vermont with a 2-0 victory in the semifinals on Oct. 28.The game-winning tally for the Hawks came from senior Amelia Pereira, the 2012 America East Striker of the Year. Pereira connected with classmate Caitlin Alves for her 13th score, and sixth game-winning goal, of the season.
