Changes to Flexible Spending Accounts for 2013
Human Resources Development would like to notify faculty and staff who have elected to participate in the Health Care Flexible Spending Account (FSA) that, as a result of Health Care Reform, the annual contribution limit into a Health Care FSA has decreased from $5,000 to $2,500 for calendar year 2013.
Please be advised that this new $2,500 limit is an individual limit. If your spouse is employed (even if employed at the same employer), he/she would also be allowed to contribute $2,500 into a Health Care FSA. Please contact your tax consultant if you have questions regarding how this change may affect your individual circumstances.
