Women For Change 4th Annual Calendar Unveiling on Friday
Members of the University group Women for Change will unveil their fourth annual calendar on Friday, Nov. 9, beginning at 6:30 p.m., in Mali I auditorium (Dana 201).
All members of the University community are invited to attend. Refreshments will be served.
This year's calendar is the largest to date, featuring 45 women, including students, staff, faculty, alumnae, and community friends. Friday's unveiling celebration will include a slideshow of each woman and group featured in the calendar.
The annual calendars are designed to combat stereotypical images of women, offering a new view. In previous years the calendars have sold hundreds and received national attention.
The theme of this year’s calendar is “Free to....” To create the calendar, Women for Change asked women to write about what they are free to be, do, think, live, etc. Each woman also was asked to submit a photo to go alongside her submission.
Entrance to Friday's event is free. The calendar costs $10, with 10 percent of all proceeds going to CTGirlCott, whose mission is raise consciousness about the pressures on women regarding beauty and raise money for women and girls locally and globally.
