The band "Covert Jazz" will perform on Wednesday evening in a concert to raise awareness about violence against women.

The School of Communication’s Public Relations Cases course group is putting on a jazz performance, Jazz For Change, on Wednesday, Nov. 7, to raise awareness about violence against women. The event will take place from 7:30 to 9 p.m. in the Konover Great Room.

The band, Covert Jazz, is a Connecticut-based jazz ensemble that also honors the philanthropy. The sophisticated group will be performing a number of tunes, from great classics to today’s hits.

There is a suggested donation of $2, with all proceeds being donated to My Sister’s Place in Hartford. My Sister’s Place is a nonprofit agency exclusively serving the lives of homeless women and their children. My Sisters' Place has been a safe haven for those who are suddenly forced into the streets due to reasons such as domestic violence.

Come out and enjoy great music, fun snacks and all for a great charity. You won’t want to miss Jazz For Change.
