Taking a Moment to Give Thanks
Members of the University of Hartford community will come together on Thursday to give thanks at a special Thanksgiving Inter-Faith Service featuring music and speakers.
The service, sponsored by the Office of Multicultural Programs and the Campus Activities Team, will take place on Thursday, Nov. 15, at 12:30 p.m. in Suisman Lounge, Gengras Student Union.
The program will feature music by the University of Hartford Gospel Choir and the Newman Choristers, and remarks by Pastor Frank Termine, Catholic Campus Minister Sandi Smith, Eyas Azzuni of the Muslim Student Association, Amanda Kramer of Hillel, Assistant Vice President for Student Development DeLois Lindsey, and Felecia Bumpus, director of student activities and Greek life.

Inter-faith Thanksgiving services have been held on campus in the past, but the event has not taken place in recent years. Lindsey initiated the effort to start holding the service again.
"I think it's very important for all of us to pause and take a moment to give thanks. There are a lot of things that we need to give thanks for as we begin the holiday season," Lindsey said.
