The University-wide holiday party for faculty and staff, sponsored by Aramark, has been moved from Dec. 13 to Thursday, Dec. 20. The party will begin at 3 p.m. in the Gengras Student Union cafeteria. The date was changed so that considerably fewer students would be affected by the cafeteria closing early that day.

This year’s holiday party will feature great prizes, and the chance for donors to the University’s United Way campaign to throw pies at senior administrators!

Anyone who makes a donation to the United Way campaign, regardless of amount, will be entered into a drawing to take part in the pie-throwing. At the holiday party on Dec. 20, the seven employees who are randomly selected will each draw a name and throw a pie at one of the following:

President Walter Harrison
Provost Sharon Vasquez
Associate Provost Chuck Colarulli
Vice President John Carson
Vice President Lee Peters
Vice President Christine Pina
General Counsel and Secretary Tom Dorer

The United Way campaign runs until Nov. 30. To date, $20,817 has been raised toward the University’s goal of $25,000. The University is aiming for 100 percent participation by faculty and staff – donations of any amount are appreciated. If you are not sure how to donate, contact the United Way campaign volunteer for your department or call the President’s Office at ext. 4417 or 4418.

In addition to watching and/or participating in the pie-throwing, attendees at the holiday party will have an opportunity to win great prizes donated by various University vendors. Prizes that will be given away through a drawing at the party include:

iPad 2, 16g wifi
Mini iPad
Two printers
Apple TV
Two $50 American Express gift cards
Surface tablet
Hess collectible truck
And more!

So mark your calendar for Dec. 20 and come enjoy some holiday cheer, delicious food, great prizes, and a little pie-throwing entertainment!
