Third-year head coach Diana Consolmagno has announced the schedule for the University of Hartford softball team for the upcoming 2013 campaign. The slate is highlighted by a trio of non-conference tournaments and also includes three NCAA regional participants in Iona, Massachusetts, and America East Tournament champion Boston University.

For the first time in two years, the Hawks open up their season in the Sunshine State on February 22 with the Florida International University Tournament, a three-day event that also features Mercer, Savannah State and the host FIU.

Hartford remains on the road for the Winthrop Tournament, a tournament that is held from March 1-3 and also includes five teams in Dayton, Rhode Island, Virginia, Monmouth and UNC-Greensboro.

Following the two tournaments, the Hawks return to the Northeast and will remain in the Nutmeg State for their next four games. Hartford first heads to Hamden, Conn., on March 6 for a twinbill at Quinnipiac before opening up the home portion of its schedule on March 13 with a doubleheader against local rival Central Connecticut.

The two games with CCSU are part of an 18-game home schedule for the Hawks, a slate that is spread over 11 dates at the University of Hartford Softball Field.

The top four teams in the conference standings will qualify for the America East Softball Championships, which will be held at the site of the top seed on May 9-12. NCAA Division I Regional and Super Regional Tournaments will take place on May 16-19 and May 23-26, respectively, while the World Series takes place on May 29-June 2.
