The band "Covert Jazz" will perform on Wednesday evening in a concert to raise awareness about violence against women.

The School of Communication’s Public Relations Cases course group is hosting a jazz performance, Jazz For Change, on Wednesday, Nov. 28, to raise awareness about violence against women. The event will take place from 7:30 to 9 p.m. in the Konover Great Room.

The band, Covert Jazz, is a Connecticut-based jazz ensemble that also honors the philanthropy. The sophisticated group will be performing a number of tunes, from great classics to today’s hits.

There is a suggested donation of $2, with all proceeds being donated to Interval House in Hartford. Since 1977, Interval House has made a positive difference in the lives of nearly 150,000 women and children who experienced psychological and physical abuse at the hand of a domestic or intimate partner. Standing with abused women and children in their struggle for safety and justice, Interval House provides a safe place to live as well as concrete information and education to understand and deal with their individual situations. Women and children are given guidance and tools to utilize other community resources, and empower themselves.

Come out and enjoy great music, delicious food, and the chance to win great prizes, all for a great charity. You won’t want to miss Jazz For Change!
