University to Host Preschool Holiday Party on Thursday

Happy preschoolers enjoy their new stuffed animals at a previous year's holiday party.

The University will host its annual Preschool Teddy Bear Holiday Party on Thursday, Dec. 6, from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. in Suisman Lounge, Gengras Student Union. All members of the University community are invited to attend.

This year's guests, children from Capital Prep Preschool and S.A.N.D. Elementary School in Hartford, will each receive a stuffed animal and have a picture taken with Santa Claus. The party will also include pizza and snacks, activities, and music from WSAM, the University’s student-run radio station.

This year, Santa and Mrs. Claus will be played by Professor of Communication Roger Desmond and Alison Rusczyk of University Libraries.

The party is hosted each year by the Office of Multicultural Programs and the Center for Community Service. Other sponsors include the University's multicultural organizations, the Office of the Dean of Students, Greek Life, WSAM radio, the Campus Activities Team, Student Centers and Activities, and many more campus organizations. Numerous students, staff, and faculty volunteer their time at the event.
