Interested in singing? Kiku Ichihara, a University of Hartford staff member (Financial Accounting) and alto in Celesti Sondato, writes:
“Celesti Sondato is a diverse group of music lovers that come together on Wednesday evenings to create beautiful music. We are a mix of professional and amateur singers from many different backgrounds. Our January concert features a wide variety of music, and is our first with our new director, Bryan Zaros. Zaros brings a strong sense of musicality and passion for choral music to the group. His vision for the choir is for us to be an example of 'music in service to the community.' We plan to take on community service initiatives and perform concerts to benefit charities. Our spring concert will be on Cinco de Mayo, and will feature music from Mexican renaissance composers, as well as contemporary composers. Celesti Sondato is looking for new members, and we would love to have you join us! Please feel free to contact me for an insider's perspective, at ichihara@hartford.edu.”
