Hartt Alumna to Star on Broadway; Former HCD Student in New Movie

University of Hartford alumna Marin Ireland, a 2000 graduate of The Hartt School, will star in the upcoming Broadway play, The Big Knife.

The rarely revived 1940s drama of Hollywood secrets will play March 22-June 2, opening on April 16. Roundabout Theatre Company announced the full cast and creative team of the revival on Jan. 8.

Ireland, who was nominated for a Tony Award in 2009, was the recipient of the 2010 Hartt Alumni Award.

Former Community Division Student in New Movie

In other Hartt news, former Hartt Community Division (HCD) dance student Meg Guzulescu has a supporting role in the new movie, Not Fade Away. The film, starring James Gandolfini, is about a group of young men who form a band in 1960s New Jersey.

Guzulescu portrays Evelyn, Gandolfini's daughter and the little sister of the lead character. She also narrates the movie.
