Student Employees Reminded to File New Tax Exemption Forms for 2013

A reminder from Payroll to all student employees:

Any full-time student who claimed exempt from withholding for 2012 and qualifies for exemption in 2013 must file a new tax form for federal and Connecticut withholding every calendar year.

Current exemptions expire Feb. 18. Unless a new tax form is received in Payroll prior to this date, exemptions will be automatically changed to reflect a non-exempt tax filing status.

Federal and state forms are available in the Payroll office or at www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/fw4.pdf and www.ct.gov/drs/lib/drs/forms/2013withholding/ct-w4.pdf.
