ENHP’s Pedro, Miller and Bray Publish in Oxford Round Table Forum on Public Policy
Current and former faculty in the College of Education, Nursing and Health Professions (ENHP), Associate Professor Joan Pedro, Professor Emerita Regina Miller, and Assistant Professor Paige Bray, published an article in the Forum on Public Policy, a journal of the Oxford Round Table, Volume 2012 No. 1, entitled “Teacher Knowledge and Dispositions Towards Parents and Families: Rethinking Influences and Education of Early Childhood Pre-Service Teachers.”
The authors explore the various ways that pre-service teachers are exposed to knowledge and issues related to the importance of working with families as an integral part of the education of children. They also examine the pre-service teachers’ perceptions of their dispositions towards working with families and share strategies for a curricular approach.
