Two Youth Clinics To Precede February Games

The Department of Athletics is hosting two annual youth clinics in conjunction with the SAAC (Student Athlete Advisory Committee) and ECHO (Empathy, Character, Hope, Opportunity).

On Saturday, Feb. 9, Howie's Sportsmanship Academy will be held prior to the men's basketball game against Stony Brook. It is open to all youth in 5th grade and younger, and teaches principals in sportsmanship.

Attendees will participate, between 5:30–7 p.m. in informative, fun, and active stations coordinated by SAAC and ECHO. The academy is free, and each participant will receive a t-shirt, snack pack, and ticket to the game. 

National Girls and Women in Sports Day, open to girls age 13 and younger, will be held on Sunday, Feb. 17, prior to the women's basketball game versus Albany. This program, held 12:30–2 p.m., will detail opportunities for girls and women in athletics. The multi-sport clinic with Hawks' student-athletes will provide each particpant with a ticket to the game, snack pack, t-shirt, and National Girls and Women in Sports Day poster.

Both clinics are free for participants. Parents, family, and friends can purchase game tickets at the discounted price of $7 each.
