Rauche Gives Talks in New York and Korea

Anthony T. Rauche, associate professor of ethnomusicology and music theory, Hillyer College, was a guest panelist for the Korean Culture Forum: Korean Traditional Music, Today and Tomorrow, presented by the Flushing Council on Culture and the Arts, at the Flushing, N.Y., Town Hall on Oct. 17, 2012.

In November, Rauche traveled to Seoul, South Korea. He was invited to give a paper, "Italian American Music: Old World Identity and Community in the 21st Century New World," for the 2012 International Conference of the Korean Society for World Music and the World Music Center Foundation, for the session, "Multicultural Society and Music: The Current State and Prospect."

Rauche also gave two guest lectures at Kookmin University: "Native North American World View, Cosmology and Religion," and "North American Native Music," at the invitation of Dr. Heesun Kim and Dr. Ju Yong Ha.
