Accolades: Neal Hannon, Marla Perlstein

Neal J. Hannon, a lecturer in accounting and management information systems, Barney School of Business, was the co-author of the cover story in the February issue of Strategic Finance magazine, “Making Clean Deposits.” The article is about the FDIC’s recent conversion to an automated method of collecting data from the nation’s 8,000 banks. The article detailed the use of the eXtensible Business Reporting Language (XBRL) as a method to produce more accurate and timely submissions to the FDIC.

Hannon is the XBRL editor for Strategic Finance magazine. The February cover story marked the 50th time Hannon has appeared in the magazine.


Marla Perlstein, costume shop manager at The Hartt School, served on a panel presenting a session on “Costume Shop Management” on March 30, at the annual conference of the United States Institute for Theatrical Technology in Louisville, Ky.
