Accolades: Robert A. Logan

Robert A. Logan, associate professor of English, College of Arts and Sciences, presented a paper entitled "'Glutted With Conceit:' Imprints of Doctor Faustus on The Tempest," in a session called “Doctor Faustus: New Critical Approaches” at the 15th Biennial New College Conference on Medieval and Renaissance Studies, held from March 9-11, in Sarasota, Fla.

In the past few months, Logan has published three reviews:
  • Review of The Cambridge Companion to Christopher Marlowe, Ed. Patrick Cheney (Cambridge, Eng. And New York: Cambridge University Press, 2004) in Renaissance Quarterly LVIII 2, 2005: 731-33.


  • Review of Nora Johnson’s The Actor as Playwright in Early Modern Drama (Cambridge, Eng.: Cambridge University Press, 2003) in Marlowe Society of America Newsletter XXV 1, 2005: 10-11.


  • Review of Benjamin Bertram’s The Time is Out of Joint: Skepticism in Shakespeare’s England (Newark, DE: University of Delaware Press/AUP, 2004) in Renaissance Quarterly LVIII 4, 2005: 1441-1443.
In addition, a critical study by Logan, Shakespeare’s Marlowe: The Influence of Christopher Marlowe on Shakespeare’s Artistry, has been accepted by Ashgate Press. The book is scheduled to appear in print this fall.
