Call for Entries: Goldfarb Student Art Exhibition
The Alexander A. Goldfarb Student Exhibition is the annual juried student art exhibition held each spring in the Joseloff Gallery. Students from all schools and colleges are encouraged to submit work for consideration by an invited guest juror. This year's juror is Martha Lewis, painter and educational curator of ArtSpace New Haven.
Two of the works selected for the exhibition will be awarded $1,000 Purchase Prizes, to be awarded at the public reception on March 14.
For detailed information about the exhibition and the submission process, download an information sheet or visit the Joseloff Gallery website.
Exhibition Dates: March 12 – April 14, 2013
Public Reception and Awards Presentation: Thursday, March 14, 4-6 p.m.
Submissions
Submit work for consideration by the juror by bringing the work to the Joseloff Gallery on one of the following days and filling out an entry form (available at the gallery):
• Thursday, Feb. 28, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
• Friday, March 1, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
• Saturday, March 2, noon to 4 p.m.
All current students of the University of Hartford are eligible for entry. Two pieces of art in any medium may be submitted by each student. Only full-time undergraduate students are eligible to win the two Purchase Prizes.
Jurying
Work will be juried on Monday, March 4, and results will be announced at the end of the day. Unaccepted entries can be picked up from the gallery on Tuesday, March 5, and Wednesday, March 6, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Purchase Prizes
Two works of art selected for the exhibition will be chosen to receive Purchase Prizes of $1,000 each. In exchange for the $1,000 prize, the student will give their winning work over to the collection of the Hartford Art School. Students may elect not to be considered for Purchase Prizes if they do not wish to sell their work. Prize winners will be announced at the awards presentation during the public reception on Thursday, March 14, from 4-6 p.m. in the Joseloff Gallery.
