Hartt Faculty to Present at NAfME Conference, April 4-7 in Hartford

Five Hartt School faculty members will present at the National Association for Music Education (NAfME) 2013 Biennial Eastern Division Conference, April 4-7 in Hartford.

– Glen Adsit, Director of Bands and Associate Director of the Instrumental Studies Division, will lead the All-Eastern Honors Band in a performance at The Bushnell Center for the Performing Arts on Sunday, April 7, at 3:30 p.m.

Vanessa L. Bond, Assistant Professor of Music Education, will present “Using Sound Stories and Listening Maps in General Music” on Friday, April 5, at 9:15 a.m., at the Connecticut Convention Center, Room CC 21.

John Feierabend, Director of the Music Education Division, will lead a session entitled “First Steps in Music:
 Vocal Development in the Early Years” on Saturday, April 6, at 8 a.m., at the Connecticut Convention Center, Room CC 14; and “First Steps in Music: 
Movement Development in the Early Years” on Saturday, April 6, at 12:15 p.m., at the Connecticut Convention Center, Room CC 14.

– Lillie Feierabend, Director of the Community Division’s Canticum Choir (part of the Connecticut Children’s Chorus), will present “Multiple Intelligences 
in the Music Classroom” on
 Friday, April 5, at 5 p.m., at the Connecticut Convention Center, Room CC 21.

– Dee Hansen, Professor of Music Education, Chair of Graduate Programs, and Director of Hartt SummerTerm, will present "Tell it Like It Is: Addressing Your Audience in Advocacy," on Saturday, April 6, at 12:15 p.m. at the Hartford Marriott Ballroom A, and "Early Childhood Development & Current Brain Research," on Saturday, April 6, at 5 p.m., location TBA.

Conference attendees are invited to attend the Hartt Reception for Alumni and Friends on Friday, April 5, from 6:15  to 7:30 p.m. in the Cityside Lounge at the Connecticut Convention Center.
