Jack Bobzien picked up the first America East weekly award for the University of Hartford men's lacrosse team this season as he was tabbed the league's Rookie of the Week on Monday afternoon. Bobzien recorded seven points to help lead the Hawks to a 1-1 week.

A midfielder, Bobzien got his week going by tallying two assists at home against Brown on Wednesday. He then racked up five points on Saturday afternoon to help Hartford top Siena on the road, 15-14, for its first win of the season. The Littleton, Colo., native scored twice and assisted on three other goals, with his final goal tying the game at 14 with 6:58 left to play.

The Hawks' first recruit from the state of Colorado, Bobzien currently tops his team in scoring with 12 points on four goals and eight assists. In addition, he has tallied at least one point in all four games of his career, including multiple points in three of those outings.

Bobzien and the Hawks return to the action on Saturday, March 16, when they travel to Quinnipiac at 1 p.m. The Bobcats enter the contest with an unblemished record and are currently receiving votes in both the Nike-Inside Lacrosse Media Poll and the USILA Poll.
