Simsbury Life Publishes Feature on Farmington Valley Transition Academy
The March issue of Simsbury Life features an article about the Farmington Valley Transition Academy (FVTA) and includes information about a new agreement signed between FVTA and the University of Hartford and its College of Education, Nursing and Health Professions (ENHP).
Quoted in the article are ENHP Dean Ralph Mueller; Suzi D’Annolfo, who is ENHP’s coordinator of school partnerships; and Gretchen Nelson, who is head teacher for FVTA and an adjunct faculty member in ENHP.

The FVTA brings young adults with developmental disabilities from surrounding towns to the University of Hartford campus for life-skills and vocational training. Much of that training comes in the form of on-campus jobs and volunteer work such as copying, shredding, and doing data entry in various offices. The FVTA program is based in the rear of B-Complex.
