Introducing Ensemble Video, an In-House YouTube
The University has acquired Ensemble Video, an online video platform similar to YouTube. Ensemble Video is designed to make it easy to publish and share large media files, such as audio and video.
Ensemble is seamlessly integrated with Blackboard, allowing instructors to share videos with their students directly from their courses. Ensemble videos are organized into libraries that can be shared with others, and uploaded videos can be accessed from a public website or from within a Blackboard course. Ensemble can be used for sharing instructional videos and lectures, screen captured tutorials, and recorded events, and can help centralize campus media by providing a central repository for easy access by students, faculty, and staff.
Interested faculty and staff, as well Blackboard instructors currently uploading videos directly to Blackboard or using YouTube, should contact the Computer Support Line to request an account on the Ensemble system at 860.768.5999 or ITS@hartford.edu.
Basic instructions for using the Ensemble system are available on the Faculty Center for Learning Development (FCLD) website.
The FCLD will be offering a “Getting Started with Ensemble” demonstration on Friday, April 19, from 2 to 3 p.m. in the Woods Classroom in Mortensen Library. To register, please contact FCLD at 860.768.4661 or fcld@hartford.edu.
