Sharon Pope, associate professor of legal studies, A&S, has been selected to receive the Connecticut Bar Association’s prestigious Pro Bono Award.
Pope, an attorney, was nominated for the award by Greater Hartford Legal Aid, in recognition of her volunteer advocacy work for the poor. Pope has been on sabbatical this year, which has enabled her to dedicate her time and energy to Greater Hartford Legal Aid.
She will receive the Pro Bono Award at the Connecticut Bar Association’s annual meeting, which will take place on June 12 at the Connecticut Convention Center in Hartford.
Scott Scribner, assistant professor of philosophy at Hillyer College, presented two papers last month during spring break. Scribner presented "The Cut of Judgment: Art and Aesthetic of Self-Transformation" at Princeton University, and "Reduction or Revelation: Fichte and the Question of Phenomenology" at the University of Vienna, Austria.
