Chamber Music Marathon to Feature Creation of Live Art on Stage

Students in Hartt’s Performance 20/20 ensemble will present seven hours of great chamber music from around the world on Sunday, April 28, from 2 to 9 p.m. in Berkman Recital Hall (Fuller Music Building).

The performance is billed as a "marathon," to which you can come and go as you please throughout the afternoon and evening. Light snacks will be served in an adjoining refreshment room.

Painter Ethan Boisvert '02, a graduate of the Hartford Art School, has been invited to create art live on stage during the 2 to 4 p.m. performances.

There is no charge for admission. Seating is limited.

The performance schedule:

2-4 p.m. – The Americas
Music of Siegmeister, Hartmann, Larsen, Piston and Amram

4-5 p.m. – Brasses and Saxes
Thirty minutes of music for brass followed by 30 minutes of saxophone chamber music

5-7 p.m. – East/West Fronts
Music by Shostakovich, Gaubert, Beethoven, Findeisen, Kolar

7-8 p.m. – Instrumental Melting Pot
Music by Koechlin, Rush, Másson, and Reynolds

8-9 p.m. Prism
Six world premieres of music by Hartt students Robert Tomasulo, Joshua Denenberg, Maria Mykolenko, Catherine Phang, Hanna Kim, and Matt Cramer
