Student-Athletes Create Video to End Homophobia in Sports
Posted 4/30/2013
On Monday, April 29 – the day that Jason Collins became the first NBA player to come out as openly gay – University of Hartford Athletics released a video on YouTube titled "If You Can Play, You Can Play at Hartford."
Student-athletes at the University of Hartford are working in conjunction with the America East Conference and the You Can Play project to change the culture of athletics to one that is accepting and welcoming of all people, and to put a stop to the use of homophobic language in sports.
Gay athletes. Straight allies. Teaming up for respect. If you can play, you can play at Hartford.
