Lacrosse Team to Play in America East Championship Thursday
The University of Hartford men's lacrosse team will begin its quest for its second America East Championship title when it takes on the UMBC Retrievers on Thursday, May 2, at 4:30 p.m., at LaValle Stadium in Stony Brook, N.Y.
The game between No. 2 Hartford and No. 3 UMBC (University of Maryland, Baltimore County) is one of two semifinal matches in the 2013 America East Men’s Lacrosse Championship tournament. In the second semifinal, No. 1 Albany will face off against No. 4 Stony Brook.
The winners of the two semifinal games will face off for the conference title on Saturday, May 4, at 10 a.m. in Stony Brook, with the winner earning a trip the NCAA Tournament.
High-definition video streams of the semifinals will air for free on AmericaEast.com Thursday, and the championship game will air on ESPNU on Saturday.

Hartford (7-6, 3-2 AE) will make its third-straight America East Championship appearance and seeks its second America East title in three years. The Hawks earned a spot in the America East tournament with a 17-11 win over Vermont on Saturday, April 27. In that pivotal game, sophomore Kevin O’Shea poured in a game – and career – best seven goals, including three in the deciding quarter.
