Nagurney Co-authors Two Paper Presentations at POM Conference

Ladimer S. Nagurney, professor of electrical, computer, and biomedical engineering, CETA, was the co-author of two papers presented at the 24th Annual Conference of the Production and Operations Management Society, held in Denver, Colorado, May 3-6, 2013.

The first presentation, Securing the Sustainability of Global Medical Nuclear Supply Chains Through Risk Management and Optimization, was in a session titled "Healthcare Supply Chains: Quality, Risk & Influenza Vaccines."

The second presentation, Pharmaceutical Supply Chain Networks with Outsourcing Under Price and Quality Competition, was in a session on "Models of Supply Chain Networks and Empirical Studies."

The Production and Operations Management Society (POMS) is an international professional organization whose purpose is to extend and integrate knowledge that contributes to the improved understanding and practice of production and operations management (POM); to disseminate information on POM to managers, scientists, educators, students, public and private organizations, national and local governments, and the general public; and to promote the improvement of POM and its teaching in public and private manufacturing and service organizations throughout the world.

Both presentations were co-authored by Dong Li, a doctoral student in management science, and Professor Anna Nagurney, both of the Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
