The new bridge between The Hartt School and Lincoln Theater is tentatively scheduled to be closed to vehicle traffic on Thursday, May 9, and Friday, May 10, so that the contractor can perform final paving.

Please note that the paving schedule is heavily dependent on the weather. If the rain showers forecast for Wednesday and Thursday become more significant rainfalls, it will likely delay the paving schedule.

Weather permitting, the schedule will be as follows:

Thursday, May 9: Pavement prep – bridge will be closed to vehicle traffic only. Pedestrians will be allowed to cross the bridge on the new sidewalks. From approximately 7 a.m. until 5 p.m., the road will be closed from the Abrahms Hall driveway/D-Lot north entrance to the F-Lot entrance (see campus map). This is the same section of road that was closed during the original bridge installation from June 2012 to January 2013. Pedestrian and vehicle access to Abrahms Hall and the Harry Jack Gray Center loading dock will be open all day.

If the rain showers forecast for Wednesday and Thursday become more significant rainfalls, this work may be postposed to the next dry weather business day.

Friday, May 10: Final paving – bridge will closed to vehicle traffic only. Pedestrians will be allowed to cross the bridge on the new sidewalks. From approximately 7 a.m. until 8 p.m., the road will be closed from the Abrahms Hall driveway/D-Lot north entrance to the F-Lot entrance (see campus map).

Vehicular access to Abrahms Hall and the Harry Jack Gray Center loading dock will be closed all day. Pedestrian access to those buildings will remain open. No deliveries will be allowed to the HJG Center loading dock. No one will be allowed to park in the spaces alongside Abrahms Hall and the back of the Harry Jack Gray Center. Faculty and staff who normally park in those areas should park in D-Lot.

If the rain showers forecast for Wednesday and Thursday become more significant rainfalls, this work may be postposed to the next dry weather business day.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we complete the final phase of the bridge project.
