"Stash It, Don't Trash It" Needs Your Help
Once again this year, a group of students, faculty, and staff will be collecting useful furniture, food, clothing, and appliances that students would otherwise discard as they move out of their residences after finals and graduation.
If you have items that you would like to get rid of as you move out of your campus living unit, please consider donating them through the "Stash It, Don't Trash It!" program. If donating items, please carefully follow the rules given at http://uhaweb.hartford.edu/uhdonates/Donate.htm.
We will collect and temporarily store the items in a truck trailer generously loaned by Fallon Moving & Storage of Windsor. The collected items will then be dispersed to food banks and charities or sold at bargain prices to the University community, and the raised money will be given to charities or other nonprofit organizations.
The trailer will be parked behind Konover Campus Center (between Konover and Village Quad 7). It will be open for donations from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 11; Sunday, May 12; Wednesday, May 15; and Saturday, May 18; and from 1 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, May 19.
If you would like to volunteer, donate some items, or just learn more about our efforts, please go to our webpage at http://uhaweb.hartford.edu/uhdonates/ or contact Wesley Axtell at 603.318.6500 or axtell@hartford.edu.
