A Memorial Celebration in honor of the late Kevin Gray, associate professor of theatre in The Hartt School and a renowned Broadway performer, will be held on Monday, May 13, at 2 p.m. at The Majestic Theater, home of Phantom of the Opera, 44th Street and 8th Avenue in New York City.

Gray, a beloved member of the University community and the theatre world, passed away in February at the age of 55. Among his many high-profile roles, Gray starred in Phantom of the Opera on Broadway and on the U.S. national tour

All friends, colleagues, and current and former students are welcome to join in the celebration of Gray's life on May 13. No tickets or admission; just come.

You may wish to arrive early; there will be videos, photos, and other items in the lobby area. Many of Gray's theatre friends – including Charles Randolph-Wright, director of Motown: The Musical, and a former classmate at Duke University – are helping to organize the tribute.

Gray's wife, Dodie Petit, has established the Kevin Gray Memorial Scholarship Award at The Hartt School to aid promising musical theatre students. Donations can be made online (https://www.anchoronline.org/anchorfund) or by mail (University of Hartford, Office of Institutional Advancement, 200 Bloomfield Avenue, West Hartford, CT 06117). If donating online, choose "Other" for the designation and put "The Kevin Gray Memorial Scholarship Award" in the blank space provided.
