A workshop for faculty and preceptor teams is scheduled for Tuesday, April 30, at 12:15 p.m. in Dana 202 (Mali II).

These are the next steps for faculty who hope to employ a preceptor in fall 2013:

1) Please inform Mark Blackwell, director of the University Preceptor Program (blackwell@hartford.edu), of your intention to employ a preceptor in a fall 2013 course that typically enrolls first-year students.

2) In your email to Blackwell, please include the preceptor’s name, email address, and student identification number. Please also include the course code and CRN number of the class in which you’ll be using your preceptor.

3) Please invite the preceptor to attend the workshop on April 30 with you.

The workshop will last approximately 90 minutes and will be an interactive session. It is not a repeat of the information session.

Please bring two copies of your course syllabus to the workshop. (It can be an early version.) We will hold breakout sessions and ask faculty/preceptor teams to address issues raised by case studies that present challenging situations. We will also ask you to plan for the kinds of tasks you will assign to your preceptor.

For more information, please contact Mark Blackwell at ext. 4941 or blackwell@hartford.edu.
