Accolades: Ingrid Russell

Ingrid Russell, professor of computer science in the College of Arts and Sciences, has had an article accepted for journal publication and recently gave two invited presentations.

Russell co-authored an article titled “Advances in Knowledge Acquisition and Representation” that was accepted for publication in the International Journal on Artificial Intelligence Tools, Vol. 15, No. 2, published by World Scientific Press. The paper is co-authored with Larry Holder, professor of computer science at the University of Texas at Arlington, and Zdravko Markov, associate professor of computer science at Central Connecticut State University.

Among her other recent activities, Russell was invited to serve on a panel titled “Non-Traditional Projects in the Undergraduate AI Course.” The panel was held at the 37th Association for Computing Machinery Technical Symposium on Computer Science Education (SIGCSE-06), March 1-5, 2006, in Houston, Texas. The panel summary is published in the conference proceedings published by ACM Press.

Russell also was invited to present at the National Science Foundation's Course, Curriculum, and Laboratory Improvement (NSF/CCLI) project showcase session, which was held during the SIGCSE-06 conference in Houston. Russell’s project was one of 11 NSF/CCLI funded projects selected to be showcased during the session.
