Goldenberg to Serve as Interim Dean of Undergraduate Studies

The following is a message from Provost Sharon L. Vasquez.

I am pleased to announce that Dr. David H. Goldenberg will serve over the next year as Interim Dean of Undergraduate Studies.

Dr. Goldenberg will continue his primary role as Dean of Hillyer College while assuming a number of responsibilities growing out of the reorganization that has been underway in the Provost’s Office. During this transitional year, oversight functions of undergraduate studies will be assessed in view of the new job description for Dr. Chuck Colarulli, Senior Associate Provost and Dean of Enrollment Management, who served as Dean of Undergraduate Studies for decades. In the interim, David Goldenberg will supervise the All-University Curriculum and the University’s undergraduate honors program. He will also assist with the implementation of a number of Foundation of the Future recommendations related to undergraduate programs.

Dr. Goldenberg has been the Dean of Hillyer College for the past 13 years and has served in dual roles before, including one year as Vice President of Institutional Advancement. He joined the University of Hartford after serving in senior leadership roles at Penn State Mont Alto (Pa.) and The Sage Colleges (N.Y.). An alumnus of Hillyer College, the Barney School of Business, and the College of Education, Nursing and Health Professions, Dr. Goldenberg has advanced degrees from Illinois State University and Cornell University.

David Goldenberg’s success in launching the Summer Bridge Programs reflects his ability to advance the undergraduate experience for all students of the University. He demonstrates a strong commitment to learning outcomes assessment and an unwavering support of students. I look forward to working with David to provide our undergraduate students with a rich and rigorous experience that makes the University of Hartford distinctive.
