First Week Events With Hartford Hillel

Come and join Hartford Hillel for a variety of events during the first week of school!


Saturday, Aug. 31:  11 a.m. to 2 p.m. – Kosher Luncheon
Location: Behind B-Complex or in Hillel Center (weather dependent)

Yosi Kosher Kitchen wraps, chips, and drinks served for students and families, free of charge to all. This is a great time for first-year students and their parents to meet the staff and board of Hillel.


Sunday, Sept. 1:  1 to 3 p.m. – Kosher Luncheon Part II
Location: Hillel Campus Center (first floor of Park River)

Returning and first-year students can enjoy snacks, drinks, and leftovers from Saturday's Kosher Luncheon.


Monday, Sept 2:  1 to 5 p.m. – Club and Organization Fair
Location: Alumni Plaza or Konover Great Room (weather dependent)

A FYSH Week favorite, Hillel will be selling goldfish at our annual FYSH Booth.


Tuesday, Sept. 3:  6 to 8 p.m. – FYSH Luau/Mocktails/Pizza
Location: Hillel Campus Center (first floor of Park River)

FYSH Week mega-event — students can enjoy a Luau-themed social with mocktails! Contests with prizes will take place!


Friday, Sept. 6:  Shabbat Experience: Birthright/FYSH
Ruach Shabbat Service – Hillel Center, 6 p.m.
Dinner – Hillel Center, 7 p.m.

Vice President of Rituals, Josh Gischner, will lead Ruach Shabbat services in the Hillel Center (first floor of Park River). Dinner will be held in the Hillel Center. Services and Shabbat dinner are free of charge and open to students, families, and members of the community.
