The following is a message from Arosha Jayawickrema, vice president of finance and administration.

Dear faculty, staff, and students,

In our continuing efforts to identify opportunities which will result in greater campus efficiencies, the University of Hartford implemented mandatory direct deposit for all new hires effective April 1, 2013. This decision was driven by our institutional commitment to sustainability and it leads us to our next opportunity, eliminating the paper distribution of direct deposit statements and pay stubs.

I am delighted to announce that, effective with the first pay in September 2013, we will be utilizing the Self-Service Center to provide online access to view your pay information and direct deposit statements safely, reliably, and at your convenience. We will continue to print and distribute direct deposit statements and pay stubs until the end of September 2013. Beginning in October 2013, we will discontinue printing direct deposit statements and pay stubs for all employees and students who are on direct deposit.

You can access the Self-Service Center by going to http://banweb.hartford.edu, or by going to the University’s homepage and clicking the “Self-Service Center” link at the top of the page. Once you sign in with your User ID and PIN, click on the “Employee” tab at the top of the page, and then on “Pay Information.” There you will find a variety of detailed information, including your earnings and deductions history over time. In addition, staff members who wish to check their vacation and personal time balances can do so by clicking “Leave Balances.” The Self-Service Center will display more information about your pay compared to what was on your paper pay stub and direct deposit statement. I hope you find it helpful to access your pay information electronically.

If you don’t have a PIN or need it reset, please contact the ITS Helpdesk at its@hartford.edu or extension 5999.

PLEASE NOTE that it is critical that you don’t share your Self Service PIN with anyone. Someone having your PIN will have access to your salary and benefits information. If you have not recently changed your Self Service PIN, please do so for security reasons.

A reminder—The Self-Service PIN has the following requirements:
    1. Must be a minimum of 8 to a maximum of 15 alpha-numeric characters.
    2. Must contain at least one (1) alpha letter.
    3. Must contain at least one (1) number.
The PIN is case sensitive and special characters may be used.

Remember, a strong PIN will keep your personal information more safe and secure.
