Red Ribbons to Honor University Alumni Who Died on 9/11

The six oak trees along the sidewalk between Dana Hall and the Harry Jack Gray Center serve as a memorial to the six alumni who lost their lives on Sept. 11, 2001.

A plaque among the row of trees pays tribute to the six alumni who perished in the World Trade Center.

Six trees that were planted in memory of the six University alumni who lost their lives on Sept. 11, 2001 will be decorated with red ribbons and photos of the victims in observance of the 12th anniversary of the terrorist attacks.

The memorial trees, which are located along the sidewalk that runs between Dana Hall and the Harry Jack Gray Center, will be decorated late in the day on Tuesday, Sept. 10. The red ribbons and photos will remain on the trees for one week.

Six University of Hartford alumni were killed in the World Trade Center on Sept. 11, 2001: James J. Hobin M '82; Robert L. Horohoe Jr. A' 91, '92; Richard M. Keane M '84; Stuart S. Louis '80; George P. McLaughlin Jr. '86; and Daniel R. Nolan '83. All six were graduates of the University's Barney School of Business.
