Professor Emeritus of Clinical Psychology Michael D. Kahn was part of an invited panel presentation on April 21, 2006, entitled "Sibling Bind or Bond? When Passions Within a Generation Enter the Consulting Room," at the 26th Annual Spring Meeting of Division 39 of the American Psychological Association in Philadelphia.
Kahn also presented a paper titled "Beyond the Chiaroscuro: Siblings Living in the Shadow of Each Other" at the Writer's Forum of the Massachusetts Institute for Psychoanalysis on May 10 in Newton, Mass.
On a lighter vein, Kahn led his Mid-Life Crises Jazz Band at the Twentieth Anniversary Celebration of the Connecticut Society for Psychoanalytic Psychology in New Haven on April 29. Monthly, he leads his jazz quartet on Thursday evenings, from 6:30-9:30 p.m., at Spris Restaurant, on Constitution Plaza in downtown Hartford. He will also be playing his alto, tenor, and soprano saxes with his quartet at the Szechwan Tokyo Restaurant in West Hartford on June 29.
