David E. Desplaces, assistant professor of management, Barney School of Business, presented two papers and an experiential exercise at the 43rd annual meeting of the Eastern Academy of Management in Saratoga Springs, N.Y.
The experiential exercise, titled “The Art of Creativity: Getting MBAs to THINK in Groups” and co-authored with Steven Congden, assistant professor of management at Barney, and Power Boothe, dean of the Hartford Art School, was nominated for the Best Experiential Exercise Award of the Experiential Learning Association.
Desplaces’s first paper, titled “The Relationship between High-tech Employment, High-tech Start-ups and Venture Capital Activity,” was co-authored with Congden and Henry Ulrich. His second paper, titled “The Impact of Classroom Methodologies on Business Ethics Education,” was co-authored with Susan Bosco, David Melchar, and Laura Beauvais.
