Another Championship for Rizzotti

University of Hartford Women's Basketball Coach Jennifer Rizzotti has been part of another 2006 championship, as she helped lead the USA Basketball Under-18 (U-18) Women's National Team to the gold medal at the FIBA Americas U-18 Championship on July 2 in Colorado Springs, Colo.

The USA U-18 Team defeated the Canadian National Team in the gold medal game by a score of 87-52. Rizzotti was selected in May as one of two assistant coaches of the USA U-18 Team, together with Carol Owens of Northern Illinois University. The team’s head coach is Doug Bruno of DePaul University.

This has been a banner year for Rizzotti, who led the Hartford Hawks to their second consecutive America East championship and their first-ever win in an NCAA Tournament game in March.
