100 Hawks Make Academic Honor Roll

One hundred University of Hartford student-athletes have been named to the 2005-06 America East Winter/Spring Academic Honor Roll for earning grade-point averages of 3.0 or higher.
Of that total, 65 University of Hartford student-athletes were named to the Commissioner's Honor Roll, which recognizes grade-point averages of 3.5 or higher during the most recent athletic season.
In addition, Juliana Carrillo of the Hartford women's golf team was one of 16 student-athletes from the nine-school conference to be selected as an America East Scholar-Athlete. One scholar-athlete was selected from each of the 16 championship sports that the America East Conference offered in the winter and spring seasons. Each honoree was a starter or prominent reserve and carries a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.20.
An America East Academic Honor Roll and Commissioner's Honor Roll selection in 2005, Carillo was Hartford's representative for the 2006 NCAA Leadership Convention in Orlando, Fla. She has played in 20 career golf tournaments for the Hawks and was an all-conference selection in 2005 after finishing third at the America East Championship.
A total of 1,174 student-athletes were named to the 2005-06 America East Winter/Spring Academic Honor Roll. Maine had the highest percentage of student-athletes named to the Academic Honor Roll (60.09 percent), and Hartford had the second highest percentage, with 54.64 percent of its student-athletes receiving the honor.
