Jeffrey P. Cohen, associate professor of economics at the Barney School of Business, was awarded a fellowship from the RAND Corporation enabling him to attend
the RAND Mini-Medical School for Economists in Santa Monica, Calif., from
July 12-15, 2006. The program is designed to provide scholars with
the necessary background in epidemiology to pursue research in the area
of public health.
Cohen also was a visiting scholar at the Research Division of the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis from July 24-25, 2006. While at the bank, he worked with the Vice President and Deputy Director of Research on their joint research agenda of the impacts of airport noise on housing prices. One of their research papers on this topic has been accepted for presentation in a session at the 2007 Allied Social Sciences Association Annual Meetings in Chicago, which is the national conference for the American Economic Association.
