The Spencer Foundation grants scholarship awards and educational grants to students in the risk management disciplines. Cavallaro is currently a Spencer Scholar. Companies represented were Omni Hotels, XL insurance(Bermuda), Marsh, Aon, AIG, and Walt Disney.

The Spencer Foundation also awards grants to universities to have a risk-manager-in-residence for three days. The University of Hartford has won this award again, and will be hosting the risk manager from Harrah’s in the spring.
