Accolades: William Sanders, Joseph Comeau

Professor William Sanders of the Interactive Information Technology program will be presenting at the 2006 NSF OOPSLA (Object-Oriented Programming, Systems, Languages and Applications) Conference, which will take place Oct. 22-26 in Portland, Ore.

Sanders’ presentation, “State Machine as a State Design Pattern: Expanding a Video Player Using ActionScript 3.0 and the ECMAScript R4 Standards,” will be part of the “Killer Apps” all-day workshop on design patterns on Sunday, Oct. 22. Design patterns are an essential part of an object-oriented approach to managing the complexity of large, real-world software systems.


Joseph Comeau, director of Student Centers & Activities, has been appointed by the Association of College Unions International (ACUI) to serve as a member of the Leadership Team Core Competencies group. The group's assignment is to review all of the association's volunteer roles and to assign core competencies. ACUI is a professional organization serving College Union and Student Activities professionals since 1914.
