Steve Schatz, assistant professor of educational technology, ENHP, has been appointed to the Professional Development Advisory Council of the Connecticut State Department of Education’s Commission for Educational Technology (CET).
The CET is responsible for overseeing educational technology efforts in the state’s public schools, libraries, and public and private higher education institutions. The Professional Development Advisory Council’s purpose is to provide recommendations and supporting materials to the CET that will help to inform their decisions around professional development relating to educational uses of technology in Connecticut.
Schatz was appointed because of his expertise in alternative models of professional development, including web-based, performance support, and just-in-time training. His project, TeachersHelpDesk.com, is being used by the council to support its ongoing discussions between meetings.
