Professor of Physics Laurence I. Gould, College of Arts & Sciences, has been involved in a number of activities in recent months.
Gould was invited to lead a discussion and give a presentation on global warming following the matinee of An Inconvenient Truth, the documentary about climate change by former Vice President Al Gore, at Trinity College’s Cine Studio on Sept. 9.
In August, Gould attended the “Symmetry Festival 2006” of the International Symmetry Association in Budapest, Hungary. During the event, Gould chaired a plenary session and gave a PowerPoint lecture, "Snapshots of Symmetry in Einstein's Relativity." In addition, Gould was re-elected Chairman of the Executive Board of the International Symmetry Association.
Among his other recent honors, Gould has been included in Who's Who in Science and Engineering 9th edition (2006–07).
