Accolades: Catherine Certo, Dorothy Zeiser, and Gordon Ramsey
Posted 11/21/2006
Catherine Certo, chair of ENHP's Department of Physical Therapy, and ENHP Dean Dorothy Zeiser attended the Oxford Round Tables from Aug. 6 to 11. Held at Oxford University in England, the Round Tables are distinctive forums to discuss important policy questions over a five-day period in a collegial “think tank” atmosphere.
Certo attended the “Successful Aging” Round Table at Harris Manchester College, and presented a research paper titled “The Effects of Aerobic Training on Balance in Older Adults.” Zeiser attended the Oxford Round Table on “Women’s Leadership” in academia at Exeter College and led the group discussion on “Leadership Perspectives: Faith Influences on Women.”
Gordon Clark Ramsey, excecutive secretary of the University’s Emeriti Association, spoke to the Association of Retirement Organizations in Higher Education at a conference in Tempe Ariz. His topic was "Transferring the Nostalgia from Alumni Relations Organizations to Retired Faculty Organizations.” Ramsey asked those attending if any other colleges have an award for adjunct faculty that is similar to the University of Hartford’s Ramsey Awards for Creative Excellence. So far, he said, none has surfaced that does.
