A 'Thank You' From Coach Leibovitz

Men's Basketball Coach Dan Leibovitz says that fan support helped the Hawks beat BU at Chase Arena for the first time in six years.
Leibovitz issued a letter Tuesday thanking fans for helping to push the men’s basketball team to an 80-75 victory – the first time in six years that the Hawks have beaten BU at Chase Arena.
“The crowd was our biggest of the year and the atmosphere was electric,” writes Leibovitz, a former assistant coach at Temple University who is in his first season as Hartford’s head coach. “It was one of the most exciting games I’ve been involved with as a coach.”

Basketball Luncheons, Radio Shows, and TV Shows
As the basketball season continues to heat up, you can get analysis from Leibovitz and from Women’s Basketball Head Coach Jennifer Rizzotti at a number of upcoming luncheons and radio and television shows.
Following is the schedule of remaining luncheons with the coaches. The luncheons all take place at noon at The 1877 Club, and the cost is $12. To reserve a spot, contact Laurie Fasciano at least two days in advance, at 768.4653 or fasciano@hartford.edu.

- Tuesday, Jan. 16: Lunch with Coach Rizzotti
- Tuesday, Feb. 13: Lunch with Coach Rizzotti
- Friday, Feb. 23: Lunch with Coach Leibovitz
- Thursday, March 1: Lunch with Coach Rizzotti
Live radio shows with Coach Leibovitz will take place at The Corner Pug, 1046 New Britain Ave. in West Hartford, from 6 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 23, Tuesday, Feb. 6, and Tuesday, Feb. 20. The shows air on WDRC radio (1360 AM).
In addition, the second and third installments of Coach Rizzotti’s TV show, “Hartford Hawks Basketball with Jen Rizzotti,” will air on NESN on the following dates and times:
- January 16 at 6:30 p.m. (second installment)
- January 17 at 3 p.m. (encore)
- February 21 at 9:30 p.m. (third installment)
