Len Milling
Len Milling, associate professor of psychology, was the chair and discussant of a symposium on applying to doctoral programs in clinical psychology conducted at the 2005 Annual Meeting of the Eastern Psychological Association in Boston on March 11.
Presenters included University of Hartford alumni Jennifer Lefort ’02, now attending the Ph.D. program in clinical psychology at Fairleigh Dickinson University, and Dana Prechter ’04, now attending the Psy.D. program in clinical psychology at the Chicago School of Professional Psychology.
David Pines
David Pines, assistant professor of civil and environmental engineering, presented the results of a Connecticut Academy of Science and Engineering (CASE) study on the “Evaluation of Asbestos Exposures in Occupied Spaces” to Dr. Robert Galvin, commissioner of the Connecticut Department of Public Health. The goal of the study was to develop suggested guidelines that should be followed concerning asbestos contamination in schools, including the use of asbestos in dust data.

Mark Turpin, associate professor of mathematics, gave a presentation titled “Puzzles and Mathematics” to an advanced fifth-grade mathematics class at Whiting Lane Elementary School in West Hartford on March 11.
