Accolades: Edmundo Silva

Edmundo “Eddie” Silva, a locksmith in the Facilities Department, was named the Facilities Staff Member of the Quarter for the first quarter of 2005 in a ceremony held in the Hawk’s Nest. Silva was recognized for sustained high achievement in the performance of his duties in the lock shop.

The Facilities Department established this new program to recognize the exceptional work of its employees. The program consists of three levels of recognition: Staff Member of the Quarter, an “On the Spot” award, and a Group Achievement award. Each award has an established criteria for nomination.

At the recent awards ceremony in the Hawk’s Nest, an “On the Spot” award was presented to Robert Murray for his efforts in keeping contractors from driving on walkways.

Silva was selected from among six employees nominated for the Staff Member of the Quarter award. As the winner, he receives a certificate, a cash award, a monogrammed jacket, and a designated parking space for the second quarter of 2005. In addition, Silva’s name will be engraved on a permanent plaque located in the Facilities Building.
